Step 1. Choose an appropriate image and Open it in Photoshop
At first, choose an image from your Computer or Photo Gallery. If you have not a baby’s picture, visit Google. There are thousands of images available on Google. From Google, download 3 to 7 image for getting a better result. Then, select a perfect image from those and open it in Photoshop.
Step 2. Create a Duplicate Layer
Next, you need to create a duplicate layer. For this, click on the layer icon and create a duplicate layer. You can also use shortcut form for creating a duplicate layer. For this, hold Ctrl + J. If you want, change the layer name.
Step 3. Change the Blend mode to Overlay
After completing step two, you need to change the blend mode of the layers to Overlay. You can do this by going Layer Panel. So, go to layer panel and choose overlay.
Step 4. Choose High Pass and adjust the radius
After changing the blend mode, select High Pass. For selecting High Pass, go to Filter> Other> High Pass. Then, a dialog box pops up on the screen. From the box adjust the radius. You can quickly increase or abate pixel from the box. If the image resolution is high, you need to select a higher setting. For applying the filter, click ok. Temporarily, it seems to make the image sharp.
Step 5. Change the filter effects
To make the image soft, change the effects of the filter. For this, go to Image> Adjustment > Invert.
Step 6. Reduce Opacity setting
From the Layer panel, choose the opacity for the layer. Adjust the slider and decrease the opacity. Repeatedly, decrease the opacity until the details of the image come back while the baby’s skin remains smooth. Keeps the opacity setting between 40 % to 60%.
Step 7. Choose a gray-white square circle
From the Layer panel, click Layer mask icon. You found it at the bottom of the layer panel. Then, select a gray color square with a white color circle in the middle.
Step 8. Select Paintbrush
From the toolbar menu, choose Paintbrush.
Step 9. Choose a soft brush and select black as foreground
Click on Option bar and select soft brush from there. Then, choose the foreground color black.

Drag the image especially the eyes and mouth part of the image and paint over the image. It helps you to remove the smoothing effect of the two areas. To restore image details, draw over the background of the image including other areas. If you want to remove the smoothing effect too much, select white background and brush with it. Repeat it until you get the best result.
Finally, the baby’s skin looks better.
